Apple Tree Directory started as a wish for families to have
a comprehensive, community informed site in which to find all the resources
necessary for growing healthy, happy, strong families. Hence the name, Apple
Tree, the metaphor being, healthy as an apple, strong as a tree, and happy as a
kid (or parent) eating a crisp, juicy apple.
My hope is that Apple Tree is more than a directory. It is a
community and online village, helping raise children together. It is a central place for parents to
connect with resources they didn’t know existed, while gaining and sharing
wisdom about aspects of parenting and health. Making the journey a little
easier, and with that, hopefully more fun.
About Lisa the founder:
I have been working with families and children in various
capacities for over 10 years. My work has included being a counselor for teenagers,
therapist for children and families, a nanny and a birth doula. All these
experiences have informed my decision to start the Apple Tree Directory.
I saw many times parents needing services and support that
they either couldn’t find or, when found, didn’t know which to choose. Many
wanted to try holistic services or green products, but didn’t know where to
locate them. I was aware of the vast amount of wisdom and resources available
in Boulder County, and wanted to connect families with them.
To start, last year I hosted the Birth and Natural Health
Fair in Boulder. The event was successful in connecting great service providers
and families, but I wanted to help families all year long. I realized there
needed to be a web site that made all the resources easily accessible. So, I started up Apple Tree Directory.
I hope you find it valuable and are able to share your wisdom with other
parents as well.
Providing a review on how someone helped your family might
not seem like much, but when someone finds exactly the person to help make
their family healthier/happier, the ripples of benefit this sends throughout
their lives and others is infinite. Thanks for being part of this project!

Tree grow or thoughts you have to make it better. Email lisa at
